State Forest vs park vs Game Lands
Anyone know what / if there are different hunting regs for what?
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

The regs are the same. The only difference may be certain parts of a State Park might be closed to hunting.

Limited in what way?
The only thing that would be limited may be the areas open to hunting because of campers, etc.

Re: State Forest vs park vs Game Lands
There is about 4000 leased campsites on the state forest lands, I think only one state forest doesn't have campsites. Most were built by hunters.
There is almost as much state forest as game lands. Only thing is you may have more non-hunters wandering around and they don't know much about the orange requirements. I've hunted most of my life in state forest.

Re: State Forest vs park vs Game Lands
This is the DCNR web page showing the gated roads open during deer season this year:
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry...ingaccess.aspx
Delaware State Forest land provides thousands of acres of huntable land.
When you see those 'Entering Delaware State Forest' signs along the road, you can pull over and park [if safe] and hunt.
The state markes the boundary trees w/ white blazes AND every so often a metal disc w/ a Keystone and the words 'Pennsylvania State Forest Boundary'.
The latest cut near my cabin had it's haul road thru the site of a camp that had burned and wasn't rebuilt. Last year they fenced the cut and made the old camp site a parking area.
Since you are in Monroe go onto the DCNR web site and look up Thunder Swamp trail system on Rt 402 in Pike Cnty. Parking lots and marked trails; all huntable...Last edited by wis bang; October 18th, 2009 at 09:56 PM.
