    I am just getting into SA revolvers and I want to know exactly where and how much to lube/oil them Thanks, Brian

    Lube it pretty much the same way you would a double action revolver, except for the ejector rod. Make sure to lube it a little because you want it to move smoothly.

    From the Ruger Blackhawk owners manual:

    "The revolver’s internal mechanism can be lubricated without disassembly. A few drops of light oil recommended as suitable for firearms, applied periodically
    about the various frame openings, will work its way into the mechanism parts."

    But as always, refer to the owners manual for your specific revolver.

    depends on powder type, smokeless vs black.
    the lock works gets lube, but it's more rust prevention than lube. the stuff in there just does'nt move fast enough to require lube. think of a clock, lots of moving parts all with no lube, but on the gun there are way fewer parts. the cylinder will need removed every so often to clean the gunk off/out of the cylinder pin. if let go long enough, it can lock the gun up. but you can feel that coming long before it gets to that point.

    Lube it less than you think. A drop on working parts only. I don't know that any at all is required.
