Re: READ FIRST: Where you CAN and CANNOT Carry weapons in the State of Pennsylvania
It's equally "economic blackmail" if you demand a raise or else you will quit. That's the way private contracts work, each side can demand whatever it wants, and the other side decides if the package is worth it.
At some point, your safety and dignity will have more value to you than the paycheck he offers for your time and efforts and obedience. Conversely, at some point the hassle of dealing with you could be more than the net value he gets from your labor, after subtracting what he pays you and what you cost in mandated extras and space and such.
If the deal is unacceptable, you can quit, or he can fire you. It's all about knowing how far you can push your demands, and where your personal limits are.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: READ FIRST: Where you CAN and CANNOT Carry weapons in the State of Pennsylvania
You can argue that people died for your Constitutional freedoms. The Bill of Rights applies to freedoms that you have in respect to the government, not necessarily to give you power over other citizens.
I work hard to earn money and pay for my house, other people coming into my house should not be able to tell me what I can and can not do in my home. If my rule were no guns, no one should be able to make me accept guns in my home. Same goes with an employer. A private employer takes a lot of risk when running a company, they pay/rent the building, pay the bills etc..... They should be able to set their own terms for their employees. Employees in turn always have the option to seek employment elsewhere. Those soldiers who have died, died for your employers rights also.

Re: READ FIRST: Where you CAN and CANNOT Carry weapons in the State of Pennsylvania
When you strip a property owner of his rights to govern what is allowed on his property you no-longer have property rights at all. What you have is socialized property, ie: communism.
The moment you allow the government or the will of the people to dictate how another individual regulates his own property, with except to certain factors like safety, pollution, etc that can or do affect other people's property, you create precedence for the total regulation of all private properties.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

gnbrotz: In theory I have the free choice to work for another employer. In reality I have the free choice to be unemployed in the current economic situation, or maybe find another employer who will treat me the same way. My employer does not tell his customers that they can't carry - he tells only his employees this. When the rich get so much power that their property rights trump the constitution, maybe socialism is a good idea.
gunlawyer001: In theory I have the same economic power as my employer. In reality employers have moved their businesses overseas, and paid for legislation resulting in the destruction of unions. The resulting labor glut and loss of worker rights puts me at a great disadvantage in bargaining with my employer. When money controls legislation, human rights suffer. Have you seen one person involved in the credit default swap fiasco go to jail? No, they all got bonuses from tax money.
Knight003: A proper owner cannot do whatever he wants on his property. He can't kill another person. He can't smoke pot in his house. There are laws to keep him from doing these things. There are also laws that force an employer to treat a human being who he uses to generate profit for himself on "his property". These laws are gradually being eroded by the best politicians money can buy. Capitalism can work until unbridled greed takes over the government.
At that point your vote means nothing.

See if you can spot the link between creeping socialism, unions with a statutory advantage, and employers deciding that it makes more sense to have their employees half a world away rather than being forced to treat a new hire like he was just adopted by the boss and his wife.

If you truly believe in such things, then you had better be allowing other people to use your property for any reason they wish. ...if you don't, then you could a hypocrite.
PM me your address so I can send some Jehovah's Witnesses to set up a conference, Occupy Wall Street protestors, or my neighbor so he can have his dog crap on your lawn.

Re: READ FIRST: Where you CAN and CANNOT Carry weapons in the State of Pennsylvania
I don't want to be treated like an adopted son, I just expect my employer to provide a safe workplace. I'm not a biologist or a chemist nor am I a structural engineer so I want to be able to take the employer's word that the building won't poison me or collapse on me.

Re: READ FIRST: Where you CAN and CANNOT Carry weapons in the State of Pennsylvania
The items in bold are to be expected under a Fee Simple property "ownership" system.
I'm really not seeing how income tax, SS/Medicare tax, import/export, and labor laws have bearing with real property rights. Import/export would pertain to more to personal (moveable)property, which is different from real property.Last edited by knight0334; December 30th, 2012 at 07:33 PM. Reason: minor typo
