BROWNING .380
Went to my favorite gun shop last night just to brouse and talk about guns with the guys that hang out there. He had a Browning .380 in stainless in the case that caught my eye. I was ready to pull out my wallet but thought I'd check it out on the web first. I can't find it on the Browning site. The owner said he's had it for a while but that it's a new gun and has never been fired.
Anyone know anything about this pistol?

Re: BROWNING .380
Without seeing it...
It's a Browning BDA .380
They were discontinued in 1997.
Made in Italy under FN contract.
Copy of the Beretta model 84 .380 except the Browning has a slide mounted safety and the Beretta has a frame mounted safety.
Everyone I ever talked to about these little guns liked them. Quality was on par with Beretta and Browning. Browning usually puts their name only on higher quality stuff. Just so you know, Browning dosen't make anything anymore...they put their name on products under contracts. Example - Browning fishing gear is mostly made by Quantum. Their bows were PSE last I checked.
I'm a big fan of Browning, and trust items with the BUCKMARK on the sides.

Re: BROWNING .380
Did a little more research and found some articles on google. Some good comments and some bad. Seems that they were discontinued in 1997. I can't believe that 'new' gun has been sitting on the shelf for 10 years. I'm glad I kept my money in my pocket. My favorite gun shop just became a little less favorite.

Re: BROWNING .380
Thanks for the help!
My pic was there, and then it was GONE. Can't figure out how I posted it wrong. I was gonna fix it, but the original poster changed his mind and no longer wants one.
I like Brownings, but I have never been real big on "midsize" guns chambered in .380 or .32 auto. My Kahr P9 is smaller and lighter than the Browning...and it's chambered in 9x19.

You dropped "http://world.guns.ru/handguns/browning_bda380_2.jpg" and the source image was "http://world.guns.ru/handguns/browning_bda380_1.jpg". Either you typed a 2 when it should have been a 1, or Ivan changed the code shortly after you posted. Did you type the link or did you copy & paste?

Re: BROWNING .380
Glassman- I regularly carry and practice with the Beretta version of the Browning you saw. Absolutely love this pistol. Both the Beretta and the Browning are of very high quality, I think you'd be pleased.

Re: BROWNING .380
I have owned 2 of these for over ??= 35 years now!! excellent guns - Ive never had any problems at all .I will likely buy another next year for a new wife & teach her to use & carry. These are excellent guns- more expensive that others yet never any problem.
