    Question Transfers

My father in law recently passed away. One of our hobbies was firearms. My mother in law wants me to have the rifles and handguns and I am not sure how to or if I have to transfer the weapons under my name. If I have to then where do I do it and what do I need to have?

If your both in Pa. the only thing you do is bring them home with you.
Actually your wife brings them home and gifts them to you

Of course the risk here is that your wife can decide to keep them for herself . . . In my case, it might cost me a trip to the jewelry store . . .

Ed is correct. As long as all 3 of you are PA residents there is no paperwork required for the transfer of firearms between parent & child or between wife & husband.

(Provided everyone is a PA resident)

The rifles / shotguns can be given to you directly. The handguns must be gifted to your wife first, who may then gift them to you.
