    Default Christmas AR-15

My GF asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I replied (half joking) an AR-15. She said ok, give me the details of what you want. I'm shocked and not sure yet what to get. So I'm asking what would you guys want for christmas (AR-15 wise)?

I'd build a nice little M4gery with quad rails an eotech and a Magpul stock, all black of course!

Is it going to be just for plinking, HD, competition? Are you looking for any special? Do you have any other ARs?

Someone with few ARs will give you a different answer than someone with zero or one.

If this is your first I would say a Colt 6920 or an LMT Defender, or you can just build one.

I wouldn't bother trying to get your gf to build you one, too much for her LOL.

Seriously I'd roll a colt 6290, noveske, or daniel defense, somewhere in that area. You're looking at over 1k for each of these rifles but they are top of the line, colt 6920 is what they issue our soldiers. Not that such a thing is enticing at this point, after last week.

Does she realize how much she would have to dish out? Just have her get you a solid upper or lower...work it up from there.

I wouldn't want this kind of thing from a girlfriend. That's a huge outlay of cash - and if the relationship goes south - whether a month later or five years later - it will be a huge point of contention. Unless, of course, she's independently wealthy and regularly pours $1000 gifts on you...

Congrats on having a girl that's open to the idea, though...

But to be fair, when any significant relationship breaks up, what isn't a point of contention?

First thing make sure when she pays for it, it goes in your name. If you should part ways she can't take it with her. if you are a lefty ask her to order a Stag AR-15 in left hand. I like Rock River myself well made rifle and they have a contract with DEA, FBI, so they have to keep up a high standard when building them.

    Oh, I know...everything is.

But if you two are dumping thousand-dollar presents on each other, then that's HUGE contention. At least for poor, old me. I'd rather fight over who bought which CD...
