Default Would-be robber shot dead by victim(LTCF holder)

WEST OAK LANE - October 11, 2009 (WPVI) -- A would-be robber is dead after one of his alleged victims fights back.

It happened on North Street in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section early Sunday morning.
Investigators say it apparently never crossed the thief's mind that his victim just might be armed.
    Story continues belowAdvertisement
Police say it was the man's third robbery of the night. He forced the victim up against a vehicle along the street and demanded money. That's when shots rang out - but not from the alleged robber.
"'POW, POW, POW.' Real loud gunshots."
Aaron Wisher was listening to the radio in his West Oak Lane home just after midnight when he heard a man on his cell phone quickly followed by seven or eight gunshots.
Wisher tells Action News, "After that I heard somebody yelling. Like, you know, just like talkin' trash. Like, 'Yeah, somethin', somethin', he got 'em, he got 'em. And I peeked out my window and saw somebody laying in the street."
He called 9-1-1 and police responded to investigate. As it turns out, the man who was being robbed had a license to carry a firearm, and shot the alleged robber.
Police say at this time no charges are expected to be filed.

As it should be. Glad to see the victim was unharmed.

Good for the intended 'victim'. No charges expected to be filed? Good for Philly.

do you think Ed Rendell "saw" this one? after all he has never "seen" a successful defensive use of a handgun by a citizen, right?

LOL. I tried to post this story about an hour ago, apparently just before this thread was ok'd by a mod.

Anyway, I say good for the "victim". The good for nothing scum bag had robbed two other people that same night. The robber got exactly what he deserved.

I hope the victim is ok, both physically and mentally. Taking a human life has got to be a hard thing to do, even when it's justified.

SCORE ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS!!! I for one am glad to see that LEGAL use of a firearm by a law abiding citizen was used to thwart another crime by what is probably a REPEAT offender.

Guess he won't be robbing anyone again soon.

Did anyone read the comments at the bottom of the video? It appears that everyone who agrees the BG got what he deserved or applauded the victim for not being a victim... were marked as a "Violation" fucking Libs...
