Peterson Events Center
Does anyone know what the carry situation is regarding events here? This is part of Pitt's campus, right?

Yes, it's on Pitt's campus. I'm sure it won't take a rocket scientist to figure out Pitt's views of guns on campus...

Re: Peterson Events Center
Thanks for all the replies, I already attended the event in question. You can tell that I'm not much of a sports fan, since I wouldn't have asked this question had I known that the Panthers played their games here. Which of course didn't click in my head until I was walking up to the place and saw all the signs.
I visited their website and read that firearms were forbidden, but that if you were discovered with any disallowed objects you would be asked to either dispose of them or return to your car to store them. Which I naturally interpreted to mean that you can still store a disallowed object in your car. So I locked it up in the gun-safe in the car during the event.
Security was such that carrying wouldn't have been a problem, had I chosen to ignore the rules. There were no metal detectors. No pat downs or other searches that would have discovered a concealed firearm. "Security" consisted of making sure that we weren't smuggling in any forbidden snacks, and they promptly forced us to dispose of the small package of candy that my wife had forgotten was in her purse. I'm so glad they were there to protect us and everyone else from the threat of "Willy Wonka Tinglerz" chocolate crackling candy!"There are four boxes to use in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo. How did they know it was in her purse? They were not checking the purses the last time I went there. Was it because the G=20 was just in Pittsburgh about the same time or something?
