    Default Berretta 92FS INOX

I recenty purchased one of these and was a little disappointed to find that it had a plastic spring guide rod and what appears to be a plastic trigger, not sure about the trigger and will investigate into that a little more. M yquestion is has anyone bought one of these pistols and did the spring guide rod perform adequately or should I invest in buying an all metal guide rod and heavier spring? Also, if the trigger is in fact plastic, should I invest in a new trigger.

Sometimes plastic works better than alloy; just ask Glock.

Most guns come with plastic guide rods these days. I havent heard of them causing any function issues.

A lot of the parts on the newer inox's are plastic. You can order stainless replacement parts from brignoliarmi.com but it's not cheap. There used to be a thread at berettaforum.net concerning which parts to replace and their part numbers at brignoli's website. It's probably still there but you'll have to search for it if you're interested. I believe when I priced the parts it was around $200 to replace all the plastic parts.

Which is great, but if you try to resell the gun, you need to consider that most people won't care if the parts are metal or not. Thus decreasing the amount of buyers at the increased price.

If you plan on keeping the gun forever then its not an issue.

All good replies. I saw somewhere where they had a two piece guide rod that was supposed to minimize the slide slam for around $65 do you think it's with the investment?

The gun is built to last for a very long time. I doubt the guide rod would help protect the longevity of the overall gun itself. However if you think that this would help your accuracy getting back on target faster, then go for it.

It's up to your personal tastes.
