Default Hornady's Critical Defense Flex Tip Expanding?

Anyone have any experience with Hornady's new Critical Defense loads with the Flexible polymer tipped bullets? I just ordered a box of 25 to try them out, and am curious if anyone else has done any testing with them and what they found out.

I've read some reviews of them in the On Target magazine and some other places, all the reviews seem to be saying they are spectactular defense rounds.

These are the ones i speak of:

I haven't used those specifically, but have used Pow'R Ball defensive ammo from CorBon. They are hollow points with a little polymer ball in the tip that is supposed to help them expand evenly and to their maximum potential and seem to do that. The few I have recovered were about as expanded as they could be. YMMV, but definitely worth checking out.

From what I've read they will not clog from denim/clothes etc...they will fully expand at a much better percentage rate than others...again from what I've read. I am very interested in them as well.
What was the price tag for a box of 25?

$19.79 at MidwayUSA.com, and as of right now, the 9mm's are still in stock.
    Heres the link:

Also, i'll be sure to post up a review (specifically the expansion of them) of these after i get them. I'll probably test 10 of them, and if they are up to par (expansion wise), i'll start carrying the other 15 in one of my 15 round magazines, as well as buy some more.

I just bought a box of them from the shop I use (Schuylkill Gun Works), for $17.00. He always has the best prices on ammo. Check your local shops.
Haven't shot any yet, I picked them up for my wife's new M&P 9 compact.

I have these in my P3AT and they are very reliable and accurate. Although I only shot them at 7 yards.

Within 7 or fewer yards is where most self defense situations happen anyway.

before y'all start drooling over the new cool looking rounds remember that expansion is nice but penetration is better, the best round to stop someone is the one that penetrates deep enough to effect major critical structures and is on target. Accuracy and penetration are proven characteristics, expansion is nothing without penetration. All expansion does is make up for a less than perfect hit by expanding the radius of the area affected by the bullet; again, expansion is nothing without penetration.

Looks like a cool round though, but too expensive to practice with, even a little, which is a downside. Would be interested to see performance on this and like designs, but its Federal HST for me for now.
