Default Who Has Had A Negative Experience At Altoona Hospital?

If you have, would you please be so kind as to share? I honestly have too many to do them in one sitting. I even had a formal written complaint on file from 9 years ago that got kind of a big deal made out of it. I've let the past 10 or so go, even though I shouldn't have. Tonight was it. I called over as soon as I got home. There has been a message left for the rest of the board from the administrator I spoke with tonight, I'm to be contacted when they get back.

I figured all hospitals were like that until I've been to a few others, especially hospitals out of state. This place has to stop. Too many people die and have had injuries worsened from their neglect. I hear they actually made up some new team, that if someones being neglected, you call a number and a a special team rushes right to them. Isn't that what you take someone to the hospital for in the first place? That's sad.

Oh, I'm looking for any story really.

I have a bad hospital experience... but its not from there.

Long story short, I hurt my leg... badly. Went to the local ER for some x-rays. After they reviewed them, they concluded that I had a fractured fibula. They gave me vicodin and crutches and sent me on my way.

A week later I drove the 7 hours home (was at school) and went to a specialist for a second opinion. Turns out my fibula was fractured, but that was the least of my worries. I had a torn MCL, a dislocated kneecap, and my femur was one big stress fracture.

I had a very VERY similar story to the one you just told. That was the one with the formal complaint. Ended up with the doctor getting fired that was in charge of the ER. My complaint was the one that broke the camel's back, there were many more on top of it. The woman was nothing short of barbaric.

I've had about 10 or so bad experiences since that, let them all go because what are you going to do? A hospital is practically a monopoly, like a phone or power company. Well, not tonight, I had enough. This was more along the lines of mass neglect of all the patients. Walking away, keeping us all waiting for VERY long periods of time, not informing us of anything, then copping extreme attitude when I speak up about it and try to discuss things like a man. W......T........F??? And the worst part is they lied right to my face too. They were all in a group shooting the breeze and less than a minute the girl tells me all 6-7 of those nurses were busying typing up a chart for a trauma patient. Takes 6-7 people to do that? How were they typing it? In the air with their chatter with a personal conversation? Give me a break.

The one nurse came in for the soul purpose of telling me off, then wouldn't look at me when I tried to address her back. Yeah, that takes a lot of balls to "hit and run" The administrator genuinely seemed shocked and a polled at this.
