Let's hope those still in office from the 1994 elections can educate their coworkers on what happens when you piss off the masses. Especially the gun owning masses. They didn't fair too well after the AWB.

Any state (or commonwealth with statehood status) would not have to threaten to depart the Union. The several states have entered into certain agreements with various federal government agencies and instrumentalities. Start cancelling some of those ageements (essentially treaties with the federal government), and Washington will definitely take notice.

Example: The federal government threatens to withhold federal highway funds, the state responds by threatening to cease all maintenance and construction on interstate highways - since they are/were built as part of the Defense Transportation Network, the Department of Defense can take care of them; U.S. highways are post roads - the Post Office can take care of them. The list can go on and on and on.

Part of the problem with that is that the worst gun grabbers stayed in office, it was the little fish that got fried. Pelosi, Feinslime, Schumer, the two from NJ, McCarthy, etc. stayed in and they figure they're invincible.
