Ready to get my LTC
I had recently posted about my License to carry and 302 .. Today i found out that it was not a 302 but a 201 and that is Voluntary so that means that is not held against me and I can legally own and carry a firearm. I would like to thank all the people who took the time steer me in the correct direction. I am now going to go down town and file for my application.
Would also like to know the steps that are taken when going down to get my LTC.. All I know is to bring my ID and a Photograph of myself
Ps .. I was 14 years old when That all happen I seen a lot of people were asking how old I was I am 24 years old, no thanks to some-of the comments i received but thanks again to the people that were just there to help me and not judge me

Re: Ready to get my LTC
Good luck! Hope you get it, BUT, I just want to say that you're in Philly, and they like to play by their own set of rules. Chances are, you'll be denied under their very wide view of the "character clause". So you'll probably have to go through an appeal to actually get your LTCF.
I hope this doesn't happen and you get it without trouble, but I just wanted to prepare you just in case it does happen.Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Ready to get my LTC
Just remember. You are under no obligation to answer their questions or submit to an interview. Just tell them you'd like to submit your paper application and get back to your other chores/work. If they refuse to take it, get the persons name, rank and position.
No fingerprints, parking ticket payments, police check card, etc.

Re: Ready to get my LTC
Glad you hung in there through your original thread.
You will also need a $20 money order. Get one at the post office, they are the cheapest. Plus two proof of residence besides your photo ID. Utility bills, auto registration/insurance cards qualify. Download and read the application here:

Do not go at 8:30, it's crowded, late morning is usually better.
Good luck.

Re: Ready to get my LTC
BimmerJon is correct in that by law you don't have to follow all of their additional requirements, but as the process stands in Philly they will make you go through all of those steps. It's up to you if you're willing to fight that or accept it.
A couple other notes (which you might find in the website Sparks linked):
1. They usually take close to the full 45 BUSINESS days to issue a license (more B.S.)
2. You also need to bring a color photograph (passport size)
3. They did not contact my references.
Good luck!

Re: Ready to get my LTC
Awesome, glad to hear it!
And let me reiterate what's been said about Pitts... They will attempt to press their "extra" requirements on you. In doing so, they are violating state law. You have a choice: If you feel like raising the hair on your back and refusing to be oppressed, they will give you lots of shit. If you choose to simply comply with their illegal demands, you will still get a lot of shit, but not quite as much. Doing it this way would be easier for you, but it also shows them that they can continue to get away with it.
Not trying to tell you to do one or the other, just giving you the info. The choice is up to you.Everyone should have an AK-47
