    Default AMT Backup 380

Anyone have any feedback on the AMT Backup 380 ? I know there are several versions, the one I am considerning is unfired, made in El Monte, Ca., parts diagram states 1979, clear grips. Don't know why, it just seems appealing for a small carry gun. $ 299 ????
    Thanks !

I have one that I would be happy to unload... Sell to you.
Honestly they are crap! I do have one and I just can't seem to bring myself to sell it to anyone.

I had one for two years. Never could get it to fire a whole magazine without a jam. Gave it to a gunsmith friend of mine. He could never get it to run right either.

    My standard response:

I've got one. Used it as primary carry for a few years. Totally reliable, crappy trigger, heavy for its size, snappy recoil. The P3AT is better in every respect.

I can still see the guys face that traded it in acing like he should get more money for it. As far as I am concerned I should have give him 1/2 of what I did.

That's not as pimptastic as that little derringer you have..

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).
