    Default Concealed permit question

Just curious can a person who is pending trial on a felony be granted a concealed weapons permit? Or is it only after a conviction that they are banned from having one? I appreciate any help and if anyone knows the laws that state it either way because I am doing a paper for my criminal justice class and I'm a little lost on this issue. Thanks for the help
