    Default Pre ban meaning

I see alot of firearms that are advertised as "pre ban". Im relatively new to firearms so what is the big deal with these firearms if the ban is over? (Im assuming the assault weapon ban, correct?) Thank You.

A few years ago one of our great presidents decided that certain guns were bad. The high capacity magazines were bad. So there was a ban put into place. Thus items that were made prior to this ban is "pre ban".

The ban ran out a while ago.

With exception of a couple Olympic Arms guns(change in design) and state level bans in other states, "preban" is just a selling ploy. "Preban" guns, guns made during the ban, and postban guns all can now have the evil ergonomics that were banned prior.

If you see "preban" mentioned, and you aren't in one of the states that still has a ban - most likely its gonna be marked with an inflated price.

It also gives an indication of manufacture date, but that can generally be found through serial number research, which many of the makers include on their websites. All you need are the first 4 digits on the SN and you can obtain a date of manufacture by year. But essentuallly pre-ban doesn't mean a thing as far as value goes.

So...is it akin to saying pre-prohibition {insert favorite booze}? Meaning that particular bottle pre-dates prohibition....

Bayonet lug? New guns can't have them, I think.

Who needs a big pointy thing at the end of a boom stick anyway?

Magazine capacity wasn't really a factor except during the ban.

I'm guessing you are serious due to the lack of emoticons. If so, you are mistaken unless specifically outlawed by state/local law. No law like this exists in PA. Therefore, as in most states, Bayo lugs are completely legal, and standard on most semi auto rifles (AR, AK, SKS, etc).

Its to stab the bastard after you run out of ammo but before you beat him over the head with the butt stock after the bayonet breaks in his spine. Of course all this is before you speak harshly to the bastard. Duh!
