Default borrow a .22 LR in Philly?

Hi folks - I have an interesting dilemma to share with everyone.

I'm interested in buying and using a .22 LR for plinking at an outdoor range, but my girlfriend doesn't want me to buy one until I 'really get into the habit of shooting'.

You can probably see my dilemma - I can't buy a rifle until I show her that I'm serious about shooting, and I can't shoot until I buy a rifle!

Sort of a chicken or the egg thing.

SO - I'm hoping to borrow someone's rifle, take her out shooting some day with something light and simple like a Ruger 10/22, and show her how much fun it is, with the hopes that she will let me buy one afterward.

Is there anyone in the Phila region who would consider lending a Ruger 10/22 or similar to a responsible newbie?

    thanks!

Oh yeah - one more thing. I would be looking to borrow the rifle for an afternoon or a day at most.

Damn. Now I know what I sound like!

    LOL!

You'd have a better "shot" at meeting up with someone and doing some shooting(with your girl too). I wouldn't "lend" any gun, BB or otherwise to anyone.

    Good luck.
Psssttt... Christmas is just around the corner. That's when I make my "move" LOL! "Honey, look, this is a great deal! It would make a great Christmas gift!"

I don't lend out firearms, and wouldn't trust anyone who did. Sorry.

Buy the gun and tell your g/f to GET OVER IT!

If anybody lends a rifle to a random internet poster, they deserve a swift kick in the ass.

If she doesn't let you spend your own money, to pursue the hobbies you want, then maybe its time to get a more open and understanding girlfriend, or set new rules for your relationship, because this problem will only get worse.

Or you can always use my trademarked line..

Another option, is to make one of the PAFOA shoots all over the state. I'd let you and your GF fire my weapons under my supervision.

Spend a $150 on a Marlin or Savage .22 and go have fun. If ya don't like it then sell it for a slight loss.

Have you looked into range rentals? The upshot is you'll be able to try different guns. Are you near South Philly Archery & Gun ("SPAG")?

Buy the rifle and tell her you borrowed it. After you've gone shooting with her, you liked it so much you went out and bought the same exact kind.

I don't think there is anyone on earth with two brain cells to rub together that would lend a firearm to a complete stranger.

Now for some tough love (this is not meant as an insult, but it has to be said):

Take your testicles out of your purse and put them back where they belong.

Why does your girlfriend have any say with what you do with the money you work for? Unless she's out working two jobs while you sit at home knocking back beers and playing xbox, I fail to see how it is any of her business.
