Default michaux state forest squirrel hunting?

any recommendations or experience with hunting squirrel in michaux near caledonia? i am planning to camp caledonia because camping in michaux is by permit in designated area only and fires are prohibited. thinking i can scout the day before season opens and then rise early and run the motorbike up into the forest before dawn for decent shooting when the season opens.

any sources for good topo maps that include roads, etc? i would like to buy one in large scale, as i have no means for printing maps big enough to show detail. this one is good for roads, but no topo:

Try google earth - or google maps (click on the terrain button) if you dont want to download. Google Earth is great, plot your route, save the waypoint(s) connect your GPS to the computer and send the waypoints to the GPS and you are good to go. Want a map - use the print screen button and paste the map into paint or whatever program you have. Too big/small not a problem just cut the paper and tape it back together. Poor mans route but in a matter of 10-15 minutes and you are good to go

Been using a GPS for several years to mark stands, game trails and anything under the sun.

Go here and you can either buy or download free pdf direct from USGS.

I just download the pdf and zoom and print 8x11 of the area I want.

I have a family member who recently moved to that area so I got a deer tag for DMAP area 94 (north of Pine Grove Furnace). Camped there over Labor day and did some scouting while there. It was my first time in the area I wasn't very successful in finding much deer sign. I really didn't see many squirrels either, even in the campground! Good luck to you and if anyone has any advice for me I'd really appreciate it.
