Re: looking for a .45acp polymer
I have a XD .45 tac thats just an inch longer than the service model. I tried a G21 before i got the XD and i just didn't like the grip thats really the most important thing. That and i also liked the the extra safetys and the fact that i could shoot lead out of it without changing the barrel becasue i was told you cant shoot lead out of a hexagonal barrel. This was just why i bought one the G21 just didn't work good for me so i got the XD. Go try both out see what works for you because people will argue on here forever over what one is best its just whats best for you.

What Mdslngr said...
I had both, I ditched the XD.Complete equality isn't compatible with democracy, but it is agreeable to totalitarianism. After all the only way to ensure the equality of the slothful, the inept and the immoral is to suppress everyone else. - Iain Benson

Re: looking for a .45acp polymer
If the grip fits, I'd say go with the Glock 21. Otherwise the M&P .45 seems to be a decent setup too, although it's still young. I'm not a huge fan of the XD series but everything I've read is mostly positive from end users, just parts are still hard to obtain outside of sending the pistol back to Springfield for service work.

Re: looking for a .45acp polymer
Search is your friend.
The poly frame gun debates have been going on since the birth of this site.
Not stopping it now, My vote is the Glock.

Re: looking for a .45acp polymer
In .45acp?
Hk45, Hk USP .45, M&P .45, Glock 21SF, SA XD 45, then Rugers....in that order (IMO).

Re: looking for a .45acp polymer
if you simply want a poly frame .45 and price is not an issue go no further than HK. USP, USP COMPACT, HK45, HK45C,etc., etc. HK is by far one of the most reliable guns ive ever owned, and ive owned a few.......but if price is an issue i would definitely recommend the XD45 compact.
