New Tobyhanna Range Update

I drove by again last Sunday. The pistol/25 yard area seems to be taking shape but the longer rifle area which is a lot bigger, has a long, long way to go. Right now it just looks like a giant mud hole.

The directions have already been posted in the thread so please read before you ask. It's about 3/4 of a mile west of the I-380 Tobyhanna exit on 423. Turn right on a dirt road just before the Pennsylvania Game Commission building. Pretty much the first place you can turn right after the stone artillery turrets. Only a couple hundred yards up the dirt road off 423 on the left. Can't miss it.

thanks pocono joe for clearing that up. i went up that dirt road and saw that mud lot.....wow.... it sure needs a lot more work, maybe summer of 2010

Plan to hit it again tomorrow. As others have indicated, on 423 just west of 380. First available right after the stone turrets. If you're coming from 380/611 on 423, you will pass one county or state building driveway entrance after the turrets; the very next right is a dirt road just before another set of county buildings. If you go over the bridge you've gone too far. It's up on the dirt road maybe 2-300 yards on the right. It truly can't be missed at that point.
Everything's sparkling new - let's all try and keep it up shall we?!

I'll try to get some exact distance measurements if I'm able to sneak out there again tomorrow.

The SGL Ranges are generally open all year round, from sunrise to sunset.

On another note:

If anyone wants to meet up there on saturday or sunday let me know. I need an excuse to take a break from all the relatives for a couple hours.
