Re: Mandatory Training for CCW?

Any vote for a third party is a vote for a Democrat. You are the enemy.

I think that..
SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED
pretty much covers it pretty damn well.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams
"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it."
~Thomas Jefferson, 1791

Extremely important point that is often forgotten. Look at Ohio with its state-approved training program. So much for rights! Then look at Vermont. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe all they have to do is show the gun shop owner that they can load, unload, use the safety. Viola! You can CC!

Re: Mandatory Training for CCW?
NO mandatory training....Yes I can go buy a gun get a license and carry without ever firing it. IMHO it would be irresponsible to not have or search out training but we don't need the government to mandate thier training onto us.
As responsible gun owners it is up to us to get the training and experience to handle our firearms. Although I know not everyone will seek out training it is available to us.

Re: Mandatory Training for CCW?
Carrying a gun is a huge responsibility and you need to know what you are doing. Letting the government decide that for me . . . absolutely NOT, for all the reasons mentioned.
Since this is PA, in addition to Amendment II to the US constitution we also have Article I Section 21 of the PA Constitution:
"The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned" [Bold is mine].
CCW is for some a tactical choice in self defence. It's bad enough you need an LTCF (which could be construed as unconstitutional), don't give up any more of that right by allowing them to require training.
