Default If you could have only one 1911...?

title says it. which one would it be and why?

I'm hoping this will also shed some light on which one I should get as I have none right now.

ETA: one that you would defend yourself with whether carrying or home defense.

Sorry to answer a question with a question but it depends on what you will use it for? Will it be for target, carry, investment, just to have one or......?

How much do you want to spend? $500? $1,000? $2,000? $3,000?

If you can spend 1300-1400 I would buy a Les Baer PII. IMHO the best value in the 1911 market. John Harrison makes a fixed rear that fits a Bo-Mar rear cut if you prefer a fixed rear set up.
