Retention Training - redux (Pittsburgh and surrounding areas)
Retention Training in the Pittsburgh greater area.
Prior class thread:http://forum.pafoa.org/open-carry-14...portunity.html
I am interested in another round of this training since I was racing during the last one.
At this point as we did last round I want to gauge interest and get at least 10 people down so we can get the class rolling.
The list of people CONFIRMED so far:
Definite:
1. Falcn
2. ShawnL
3. Annie Oakley
Possible depending on date:
This is not enough people to hold the class - minimum is 8
Definitely out:
NP1724
Chesterton123
Unloved
Smalls
PAallterrain
LittleRedToyota
CLASS DETAILS
Location: 3606 Brownsville Road Pittsburgh, PA 15227 <- Click for Google Maps

Price: $100
you will need an inert training gun that fits your carry holster
what I did last time was get a list of available dates from Pete. For this one I would suggest no sooner than mid November. You need to recruit the people, get and hold their checks, communicate with everyone,............ a month is not a whole lot of time for that.
after you get the available dates pick off the ones that wont work for you. Then PM the available dates to those who are on the list. have them tell you which they cannot make, and pick your date from there. Thats what seemed to work best for me.
dont debate dates in thread, it never goes well.
oh, did I mention, I'M INLast edited by Shawn.L; September 1st, 2009 at 04:20 AM.

Re: Retention Training - redux (Pittsburgh and surrounding areas)
I would be highly interested.
I'm not from Pittsburgh. (About 3 hours away). However my G/f graduated from St. Vincent in Latrobe and would love to make a trip up to Pitt to see some of her girlfriends that moved there.
If it would be on a Fri/Sat you can definately count me in.
Sidenote: Where would I find a blue gun? I know you mean the plastic ones. I guess an internet search is in order.

Yeah the blue gun thing....I guess it doesn't have to match the carry gun exactly, just fit the holster, correct?
I don't think there is a CW9 Blue Gun out there....
Shawn - I PM'ed Pete about dates, but haven't heard anything - maybe I will ping him again.FNX-9 Two-tone

Re: Retention Training - redux (Pittsburgh and surrounding areas)
Well that may pose a problem since me retention holster is made specifically for my weapon. No worries though, I'll see what I can find. If not, I'll just pick up another holster and a Blue Gun.
But definately count me in at this moment.

[QUOTE]
They make intert training guns for just about anything anymore. Rings makes the blue guns. The red guns are Diamond Supply. Blackhawk makes grey traning guns. I have also seen yellow and orange from various sources.
Search for "intert training gun" and you will get a lot of options. Prices also vary widly.
It is not important what kind of gun you use in the course. The movements and principles are the same for every gun. Just get a gun and something that holds it.

Rings Manufacturing makes training replicas (BlueGuns) for hundreds, possibly thousands of firearms. ASP makes trainers. BLACKHAWK! makes some too.

We're dropping potential attendees like flies! Down to 3 confirmed, 1 unanswered. Kind of moot unless we get more people for that last reply.

Re: Retention Training - redux (Pittsburgh and surrounding areas)
LRT is now out for this weekend (Nov 15th) too.
Maybe near X-mas and Thanksgiving isn't the best time-frame to hold a $100 class.FNX-9 Two-tone
