Glock slide stop lever spring broke
Had my first part failure at the range. The slide stop lever spring on my G23 sheared off. Just at the tip, but it shortened it enough that it doesn't make contact with the locking block pin. I bought this gun used through work via LE buy-back. Since then, I've put about 4k rounds through it. I'm wondering if the previous owner had bent the spring at some point and reshaped it...maybe weakening the metal at one spot. There weren't any score marks on it, but who knows what happened to it in a previous life.
Not a show stopper, and only a $10 part, but a curious place to see a failure. Anyone ever seen this happen before? Synergy...ever seen one do this?

Re: Glock slide stop lever spring broke
rather than paying $10 for just that spring, you might want to pay $23 for this:
http://glockmeister.com/product_info...roducts_id=234
and replace all the springs etc., in this gun since you do not know the history of it. then you can keep the springs that are currently in the gun as backups.
just an idea.F*S=k

Re: Glock slide stop lever spring broke
Yeah, I've replaced a handful of them before....it'll happen in high mileage guns. Some of the rentals I saw had about 30-40k through them before it happenend. I've seen M&P, XD and Sigma slide stop springs break, too.
I got my glock used, too. I replaced every small part on it when I got it, and keep the spares in an old plastic .22 box tucked in my range bag. It's always close at hand if need be.
IMO, I'd replace the trigger return spring and recoil spring every 5k, and the slide stop, takedown lever, and striker springs every 10 or 15k.

Re: Glock slide stop lever spring broke
Same thing happened to my 27 and it must be fairly common because I diagnosed mine by searching the internet
