Why did the rotten apple fall so far from the tree?
Why was JFK a pro-life NRA member and Teddy not?
"By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia', the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms', our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason, I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."
-Senator John F. Kennedy, April 1960

And that's why a single family shouldn't have enough power to change the course of an entire country. Our form of government partially insulates The People at large from this, but not entirely, as evidenced by the "dynasty" that the Kennedys have had over the last 40+ years in American politics. I very much hope this dynasty has come to an end; may the last knight of Camelot rest in peace, and may no more of that family's progeny attempt to influence the American people.

We have bastardized the meaning of conservative and liberal over the years.
JFK, although a weak president (re-election in '64 would have been a challenge), far more fit today's definition of a 'conservative' than the 'liberal' farce that today's Democrat Party represents.
Today's dems would have carried a different name in the late 50s and early 60s: pinks, socialists, and communists."...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."
