    Default Going to Philly tomorrow

Tomorrow I'll be going to Philly to see the Constitution Center, Liberty Bell, and such. I'm wondering what areas are prohibited from carry and I just wanted to confirm that my LTCF allows me to carry concealed in and on all non-Federal property, with the same exclusions as I'd have here in So Central PA. Thanks much!

Also, advice on what to see would be great.

Both Constitution Hall and the Liberty Bell are considered part of the National Park. I do not believe you can carry there right now. This may change when the new law goes into effect next year. I do know I was there a few months ago and Park Rangers checked bags, backpacks, etc....and had me open and lift up my jacket. Maybe someone else can confirm this or has better info.

They both are a no go from a Carry perspective.

From what I understand (and IANAL) even when the new law goes in to effect, the building will still be off limits... but the grounds would not be. I could be wrong... but that is what I remember about the discussions a few months ago

    Hello Jeff,

Unless changed recently ... No Weapons at the Bell ... told me to ' get off the block , no lockers here ' !

... I think the New Park Gun Laws are still being contested aren't they ... so much B S about it that I've lost track.

I had to leave and go to opposite corner and visiting friend from Maine gave me a pocket knife he always carry's that his great-grandfather gave him for Boy Scouts in order that he and his wife could see the Bell ... he would of had to throw the knife in their trash can ... sad, just sad.

Enjoy paying 7 % on your tab ... 8 % Sales Tax on the way !

National Park Carry was tacked onto the Credit Card Reform bill If I remember correctly it will not go into effect till something like 21 Feb, 2010.

Make sure you grab a cheese steak while you're down there if you haven't had one already.
