There is NO problem at all in taking it again. In fact to hunt in some states,
your "old" hunter ed card will not be accepted... you need a new one. The
course has changed dramatically since the '70's. Still pretty basic, but covers
    a lot more areas.

Often times parents will show up & stay with their kids, and ask since they will
be there anyway, can they take the class as well. It's usually not a problem...
(I can't ever remember saying no).

Yes, if the parent or guardian bringing the young student wants to stay for the course, they are entirely welcome.

At times, when the course roster is full, the adult can 'audit' the course.... sit in on all the classes, but not take the test.

Retaking the course is encouraged, as the content has changed dramatically since the '70s and even '80s.

Harrisburg said they aren't holding any more safety courses this season. If anyone is aware of a course I can take short notice, please let me know!

PGC is revamping their website. It should be up and running shortly. You will need to register online and will receive a confirmation email. With the new system, I understand you will also receive a reminder email.

As far as taking/retaking the course, it is always encouraged. There is no charge. I had taken it a few times with my kids and learned something new each time. After the last class I decided to become a Hunter Education Instructor. It is a good feeling to help new kids and adults become safe hunters. If you are looking to help, ask at your local club.

As stated, clubs will sometimes charge for lunch, but will tell you in advance. Other clubs include a lunch.

Hope this answers all the questions.

The woman at the PGC said," well, it's ten dollars to get the card, and free to take the course over...your call".

I re-took the course. Not a LOT of new info, but actually well-worth what I paid!
