Obama: Republican conspiracy out to kill health reform

President Obama took to the conservative airwaves Thursday to charge that Republican leaders are engaged in a vast right-wing conspiracy to kill health care reform in order to repeat the 1994 mid-term takeover of Congress, which followed the defeat of President Clinton's reform plan.
"I think early on, a decision was made by the Republican leadership that said, 'Look, let's not give him a victory, maybe we can have a replay of 1993, '94, when Clinton came in, he failed on health care and then we won in the mid-term elections and we got the majority. And I think there are some folks who are taking a page out that playbook," the president said.
Appearing on the Michael Smerconish radio show, Mr. Obama said he would "love to have more Republicans engaged and involved in this process," but he vowed to win the battle, with or without support from the minority party in Congress.

"I guarantee you, Joe, we are going to get health care reform done," he said to one caller. "I know there are a lot of people out there who've been handwringing, and folks in the press are following every little twist and turn of the legislative process, but having a big bill like this is always messy."

First the republican party is in shambles, and couldn't get from A to B if someone took them there.
Now, the republican party is SO organized it can not only plan THOUSANDS of Tea Parties and town hall disruptions, but they've orchestrated a vast right wing conspiracy to do so??
Give me an effin break.

I don't get all this blaming it on the R's. Or some sort of conspiracy.
O has enough D's to ram it home - but he can't even get all his D's to back the plan - so how is it the R's fault again?
If he crams this down our throats - he and his cohorts will be gone.
It isn't really about parties at this point. He has people in all parties standing up and saying no to this.

They are strongly considering just ramming it throught with 51 votes instead of the normal 60. If they do it that way all hell WILL break loose. I'm calling it now.

Poor Obama! Stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If this bill doesn't pass he's about done and nothing else will happen with his grand scheme and he's a lame duck.
Pass it against the will of the people and he and his party are done for in the next election.
Decisions, decisions.Divided we ever have been, and ever must be.Two thirds always had and will have more difficulty to struggle with the one third than with all our foreign enemies. - John Adams

So in his very own words, Barack Obama is exactly and precisely saying that We, The People, do not want this abomination of legislation forced upon us, and that the party who takes the stance opposing such legislation has better odds of becoming the party in power.
I'm glad he made that concession, maybe he can see clearly now that regardless of what the main stream media or Jon Stewart say, we're still a strong center-right country who doesn't want to see the government inflate itself and waste our money on trivial pursuits.
