I came across this and cant believe this is legal? Who would carry something like this? It says that its a novelty but who would spend $60 and not carry it?

Yes, it is legal. Most people consider it bad form and I personally would not do it.

Re: How legal is this?
The badge doesn't say you are any type of LEO so it is probably legal, unless you flash it and try to lead someone to believe you are a cop. I've seen them that say all kinds of stuff like 'bullshit artist' 'official tax payer' and stuff like that. Of course it has no legal weight and you better have a govt issued permit if you are carrying a gun.
I think they are mostly for wannabe cops.

hahaha I actually have one of those somewhere, dont know where it came from. Thought it was funny then, still do. Thats some official mall ninga gear. Gotta be a mr tough guy to carry that. Cant see how it would serve any purpose, except to get yourself in big Fing trouble. If somebody wants one let me know.... if i can find it.

Paperweight... thats the best use for one of those..
Do you even remotely have an idea of how much you'll be hassled by LEO's if you purposely, accidentally, or inadvertently flashed that thing to the wrong person????
Save your money, buy something that has some use. ...like another box of ammo, reloading dies, flowers for the wife, video game for the kid(s).

Re: How legal is this?
The point of having a carry permit is to - at least in my opinion - keep your firearm hidden until (God forbid) you need to use it in a self-defense type situation. When people see a badge, they think law enforcement. The last thing you want is for someone to see your badge, and think that you are a law enforcement officer, and request your assistance if they are in some sort of trouble. Not to meantion the harassment you will get from law enforcement officers.
