Question OC/CC in a gun shop bad form?

    As stated, please discuss.

I did run a search but come up with nothing substantial. sorry if this is a clip/mag type of FAQ.

No. Carry everywhere you can. Any gun shop that does not support the right to carry a gun is no place I will spend time or money in.

    ^^^^^This^^^^^^

If my local shop ever said no OC in their store, it would be the last time I go there.

A gun shop that does not endorse or allow carry is a gun shop I wouldn't endorse

I don't consider it bad form, with a caveat; don't be stupid. I used to work a gun counter and saw customers do some idiotic things. One customer started talking with another who was an obvious newbie to guns. The newbie was asking about different types of handguns for concealed carry, so the other customer pulled out his .357 to show what he carried and handed it to the newbie! To his credit he did unload it, but this was not in some local little gun shop that's as much a social club as a store, it was in a large sporting goods store with lots of non-gun people in it. I wasn't the one helping these two individuals, but I stepped in when he started to reload the revolver and told him to just holster it and reload later. Go ahead and carry, but don't unholster unless you know the owner is OK with it or if you need to shoot an aggressor. Behavior like I described above is the reason lots of gunshops don't like people carrying in their store. Unfortunately the idiots don't wear signs, so some proprietors just start assuming everyone is an idiot.

If I have a gun on me, it goes into the shop with me. The only time it ever came out of my pocket was to trial fit a holster.
