    Default Handguns in the car

First -- hello to all. Just found this site. Great info. Thanks!

I always carry a J frame in a pocket holster. When I get in the car, it's really in the way and inaccessible to boot...

Can I legally take the gun and put it in the center console while I drive? How about placed on the passenger seat? Or is this considered "not concealed" anymore?

How about when I have to leave the carry piece in the car for a moment for whatever reason. Can I stuff it under the seat loaded, lock the car and move on, or does it legally have to be locked up more than that?

If I know I'll be driving a long distance, I put my holster OWB in the cross draw position... Stays out of the way for the most part. But with your LTCF, put it anywhere you feel you can get to it the fastest... If you have a garage or any other place where people won't just walk up to you, put it in different places and practice drawing to all 3 directions... I would advise against the front seat, as it can move around pretty easily... However, I have seen people put the passenger seatbelt in the clip and attach the holster with firearm to the seatbelt. I wouldn't do it, but that's just me...

Whatever you do, make sure that firearm STAYS secure no matter what.

Last thing you want is to be involved in a car accident, and have your gun fly off your vehicle.

Doesn't matter whether it is concealed or not. PA law does NOT require you to conceal your firearm. ...Its just that if you do conceal it or carry it in a vehicle - you must have a license.

Carry your pistol any way you want to, just make sure it's secure and doesn't go flying around in the vehicle due to wreck or other manuevers.

I have heard please correct me if I am wrong but if you place it in the center where a passanger is and he/she doesnt have a LTCF they can get into trouble if stopped because they have access to it without a LTCF.

Please chime in I am curious if this is true.
