+1 I have had several great experiences in this little shop. Jim is a great guy to chat with, and they aren't offended at all when I OC in there.

    Edit for spelling.

I am friends with one of the guys that work in his shop.. John..He is a great guy and has (with the economy) fallen on hard times...Jim gave him a job first part time then full time..(As counter help and as a Smith)..John is a very very Qualified gunsmith and has done work for me on a number of firearms...(6 pistols and soon to be a trigger job on a 700 CDL). John is a No BS kind of guy;and if he can not fix something he will tell you... He has been taught by one of the best smiths in the Palmyra area.. Who has since passed away.. John and Jim also belongs to the Palmyra Sports mans Association..He has just become a Lone Wolf and A Glock Distributer..

I've been in there about a dozen times now and have always had a great, great experience -- totally friendly, courteous, conversational, and knowledgeable. I even took my girlfriend in just to help her get comfortable with being around pistols and they took the time to disassemble some, show how they work, answer her questions, etc. She ended up letting me get one a few weeks after that, and she was pretty hard-core anti-pistol (the old "scared of what you don't understand") prior to that.

There are other shops with a broader selection, but no where I've found is more friendly and accommodating than this one.

At least one full time guy there open carries daily, and I've had no problems bringing anything in.

I stopped in today to pick up some .40 S&W ammo and to "nose" around. Nice guys, I handled of few of the pieces on the wall and in the case, shot the bull . . good experience. They'll see me again.

Prices were high today. He wanted $29.95 for glock mags for example.

Thumbs down Re: Horseshoe Pike Gun shop

I store old cars in Fontana and in Hershey. Was dropping some stuff off in Fontana two Fridays ago an on my way to Hershey, I stopped in this place.

    Nice place.

However, for being located in East Bumf**k, PA with pretty low overhead, their prices were suburban Philly ++.

Not a deal to be had in the place.

    Virtually no used handguns either.
