New Purchase
Hey Im trying to decide on my next purchase but can't really decide. I would really like a 1911 but have heard that ammo is hard to come by. So I leave some options up to you to help me decide.
Thanks

Re: New Purchase
If you really want a 1911, get it. No sense denying yourself another day of owning one.

Re: New Purchase
I voted for the RIA but it really depends on what you want to do with your next purchase.

Re: New Purchase
I voted for the P226 before I read your post.
If you want a 1911, though, get one. Like someone else said, the shortages can't last forever. In my area, at least, they seem to be getting a lot better.

Re: New Purchase
Sig 226 all the way!!!!!!! Just curious why you want the DAK vs. the DA/SA? I prefer .40 cal as well, the weight of the gun really tames the round and makes for accurate shooting...........

Re: New Purchase
Don't let ammo dictate what gun you purchase, unless you're buying a pistol at a steal because others are frustrated they can't find ammo for it.
For instance, I was looking for a small summer carry and stumbled on a Bersa Thunder .380 that was stainless, almost new, and $180. They had 7 others. Nobody had ammo for the .380 except the expensive hollowpoints, and so I waited until it was available. Found 400 rounds at walmart one day about a month after, so that inconvenience resolved itself and I got a ~$300 gun for a darned good deal because someone else was concerned about not finding ammo.
Out of your list, I like the top 3. .45's are expensive to shoot, but a 1911 is so much fun to shoot it's worth the extra price IMHO.
If you want a 1911 (or whatever pistol you're leaning towards), you probably won't be happy until you get one. I had my eye on a Beretta for a while, decided not to for one reason or another, and finally wound up getting it. Very happy with it, and I wish I bought that right off the bat instead of screwing arond buying guns that were 'good enough' and selling them off one by one later down the road.
I'm getting a Kimber 1911 next, and hopefully a P226 not long after. You got some nice guns up there to choose from, no wonder it's a tough decision .

Re: New Purchase
Personally I'd go with the Baby Eagle, although I'd get it in the .45
For some reason I've had an extreme interest with them the past couple of weeks
