    Default Transfers at Treeline Sport

Has anyone done a transfer there lately? I was going to get a gun shipped there but their website says 100$ per transfer. And that is about 65$ higher then other local shops. They are like 4 blocks from my house so I'd like to use them but 100$ is way too much. I'm gonna call tomorrow to see if that's correct but I'd be disappointed if it is.

So.......find someone who charges a reasonable fee. Check https://www.budsgunshop.com/ffl.php There are several who charge $25.

I'm going to likely use Founding Fathers. I just wanted to see if they were really charging that much. I'll call them tomorrow just to confirm.

They completely sold out of guns and ammo like a month or so ago.

Wouldnt be surprised if they raised fees to slow down some craziness and make the only active side profitable to cover the overhead.

    Still crazy high though.
My limit would be about $50.

That's not true. They charge $40 for internet transfers like most of the shops around here. I don't care for them as a shop because they never have good inventory but I did used them a few times for transfers from places like gunbroker. I did a transfer about two months ago and paid $40. If they raised the fee because of the virus then it is recently.

I just checked their website and they are charging $100 for transfers now. Oh well they weren't doing much business before but now it will be even less.

Personally, I support their right to charge what they want and if they don't want to do it they should raise the price to something that makes it worth their time vs just refusing to do it. I know we all like to have it done for the minimum but from my perspective transfers look like a PITA for them and IMO $25 is a bargain. If I was buying a $100 gun I wouldn't pay $50 to have it transferred but if I'm buying a $500 or more piece I'm not balking over paying $35 to transfer it vs $25 farther out of the way.

But not talking 25 or 35. They are charging $100. For 15 minutes work? Hell, most primary care doctors make less than that.

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but it looked like more than 15 minutes work to me. Just the paperwork that I saw them do might have been 15 minutes and I don't know what (if any) paperwork they have to do after I'm gone. Then, the last transfer I had done must have been close to an hour waiting on PICS and that's their guy stuck on hold, he costs money plus their overhead.
