McCain-Feingold Revisited By SCOTUS

The Supreme Court put defenders of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law on the defensive today in a spirited argument that suggested the court could soon open a significant loophole in the measure.

McCain-Feingold is just plain bad law and needs to be completely overturned. The last time that it made it to SCOTUS it was upheld but it has never really been argued on the grounds that it should have been, the first amendment.

Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled that part of McCain-Feingold, as applied, is unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds.
