DETROIT --
A Detroit police officer is recovering after he was shot and carjacked, according to police.
Police said the off-duty sergeant was shot in the leg at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Marathon gas station at Interstate 94 and French Road on the city’s west side.
The shooter reportedly fled the scene with the officer’s vehicle.
A surveillance video from the gas station has been turned over to police.
