    Default Ruger LCP magazine issue

Hey everyone... I'm a newbie with a question about my new Ruger LCP.

I'm able to insert the magazine and it appears to be working correctly but I am able to "rock" it at the bottom and move it back and forth- towards the front of the gun and back to it's correct position. It moves enough that I can actually push it forward toward the front of the gun and it will stick there.

Anyone else experiencing this? The LCP is my first semi auto so I'm not sure if this is typical...

Put a couple rounds in the magazine and then insert it into the gun. The spring tension should keep the magazine in place quite well. I was wondering about the same thing until I found some ammo for it. If your magazine still moves around with ammo in it, you may want to have it looked at by a gunsmith.

Thanks! That did it... Man, my first post and I put up a ridiculous question with an easy answer. I'm off to give the LCP a test run.

There are no stupid questions here. The only stupid question is the one that does not go asked or answered. Welcome, I have a LCP. Great little pocket gun.

Damn...I had to go check my LCP when I read this!
    Minimal movement here too.

Just got back from the range. Put 50 rounds through the little guy without a problem...

Since I've already got one in today I figure one more question can't hurt...

While disassembling the LCP for cleaning I forgot to retract the slide before I pulled out the take down pin. It still popped right out and I can't see any damage besides possibly a small scratch on the take down pin.

Anything else I should look for or is this no big deal?

Not a dumb question, I definitely noticed it on my LCP. I might not have if .380 ACP was easier to find, though!

my lcp magazine will also wiggle a little if not topped off. i've never had this cause any problem and have been carrying in a variety of holsters for over a year.

taking the pin out before retracting the slide, eh, just don't do it all the time.
