Dickson City revokes permit after salesman allegedly steals perfume

DICKSON CITY - The borough revoked a Georgia company's vendor permit after a salesman stole a mostly empty bottle of perfume from a Mary Street home, Police Chief William Bilinski said Thursday.

Jeffrey Boyd, 36, of Richmond, Va., one of about eight T&B Sales representatives who were selling cleaning supplies door to door, was cited for disorderly conduct after the incident Wednesday evening, the chief said.

The homeowner noticed the perfume bottle, which was about 75 percent empty and cost $22 originally, missing after Mr. Boyd asked to use the bathroom, he said.

"Just to make everybody feel safe, we revoked their permit and told them not to come back, " Chief Bilinski said.

An employee did something, albeit on the job, which was against the law...so they shut the entire business down?

I believe they just revoked their solicitation permit to go door-to-door in Dickson City. They can still go anywhere else. One of these people came to my door, they didn't want to take no for an answer. Didn't want to leave.
