Default Beaver County Sheriff will only issue LTCFs for "small handguns"

Well, not really, but he does recommend it

Some goodies from the Sheriff of Beaver County's website:

Requirements for Licence (sic) to Carry Firearms

    * The applicant must be a resident of Beaver County, Pennsylvania for at least 90 days. (May require proof of residency)

    * Character References Must Be Beaver County Residents. Be sure to include their full name, address, and telephone number where they can be reached during business hours.

    * If the applicant is Self-Employed, you must provide proof.

    * Due to public alarm and concealment purposes, we recommend a Small Handgun.

I am at a loss as to why they need to know if you are employed.

They can recommend a gun, but since they don't know what you own or will be buying....it's just their opinion.

What I think the Sheriff really wanted to put was "Due to the MtnJack case and our pansy public we recommend a small gun for concealed carry..."

I'm guessing the sheriff's dept. liked the publicity they got and want some more.

When I got my LTCF I didn't have to provide any of that bullshit. And when I have to renew, I won't be providing any of that material and I will carry what I want
