Forgive my relative ignorance of PA - but is this not the same county where Mtn. Jack got arrested? I am starting to get a picture it is one of "those" counties..

Some goodies from the Sheriff of Beaver County's website:

Requirements for Licence (sic) to Carry Firearms

    * The applicant must be a resident of Beaver County, Pennsylvania for at least 90 days. (May require proof of residency)

    Is this per PA law?

In other words, if I moved to Beaver County, would I have to wait 90 days to vote as well?

Exactly. It has nothing to do with any recent events.

In addition, no one's ever asked what kind of handgun you're going to carry...

I'm assuming they want to know where a person works if said person needed to be questioned or detained LE would know where to find them on a daily basis. This is just a guess, but I'm fairly sure it has something to do with it.
