    Default Back Problems

I just wanted to share this practice with everyone, as they have pretty much saved my life over the past 2 years. My normal weight is 190 lbs, and when I was in severe pain and was told there was no surgury that would correct the degenerative disc disease I have, I thought I was doomed. I took narcotics to try to get rid of the pain, and the pain was so bad I coudn't eat, would crawl to the bathroom, and into the bathtub to try to rehab at home. I tried everything, Physical Therapy, Injections in my back, lots of opiates, stim therapy, and chiropractic. This practice got me back to work within 2 months, and for the most part, I lead a normal life. I was honestly ready to end my life, as the psychosis of chronic pain got the best of me. She has a new piece of equipment that I am not a candidate for, since I am doing so well today. There are only (4 or so in the country) that deal with bulging discs, herniated discs, and degenerative disc disease that doesn't respond to some of her other treatments (I get something called epat and chiro adjustments about 1 time per month and I'm fine now). This lady is in her 60's, and I only wish at the age of 41 I moved and acted like her. Here is her website: http://www.ampmcenter.com/

Note: I get absolutely NOTHING from this referral, I just know that when I was going through my problems, for which I thought there was NO solution and full of dispair, I was glad to find this lady. Just trying to help people out with the reference. If any of you would like to talk live, and I can also refer you to a pain management specialist that doesn't treat you like a drug addict, just PM me.

    damn...she's only 5 hrs away.

I have serious back problems too. Kyphosis of the thoracic spine, scoliosis of the thoracic/lumbar spine and my spine is twisted to the right causing constant right shoulder blade pain. I also just had a cat scan done on my lumbar spine 2 weeks ago which shows signs I may have 4 more discs bulging. I already had 4 discs replaced..I can't even stand for 10-15 minutes to do the dishes without terrible pain...

I do need to lose the weight though.

It's definately worth a visit with her, if you can get here. I've met people in her office from all over the world. The initial intake asessment takes about 2 hours, as she is very thorough about your history, surguries, images, even nutrition and lifestyle. She covers it all. I've never met a doc that is more thorough, usually they just want to see if you need surgury, and if not, write the script for meds an see ya in a few weeks for a $$ follow up. More meds and be on your way. Honestly, she does have people that have made it out of wheelchairs and into walkers. Yes, really. If you decide to make the treck out to Pittsburgh, let me know, I'll help a fellow back person any way I can. Most people just don't understand what we go through.
