Anyone else get screwed over by the Governor?

I work for the state and I got my pay stub in the mail today. Apparently I am not getting a paycheck tomorrow because the Governor didn't approve a budget. It seems like it is going to be indefinite, until he approves the budget. I was told they don't know when we will be getting paid. Having a 7 month old and no paycheck doesn't mesh very well. I'm sure if it affected his paycheck he would have approved the budget. This is such BS.

I think most of us have been screwed over by Fast Eddie in one way or another - not as immediately and severly as you.

I don't think the legislature has sent him a budget to sign yet. He wants to screw us all (again) and there is some disagreement in the legislature.

Back then we went 6 or 8 weeks without pay.

After the budget was passed all money's owed to the state's employees were paid in full.

The thing that POed me was the state employees (who paid taxes) had to wait for the budget to pass to get their $$$ and people on welfare (who pay no taxes) got their check on time.

Hope they paid some interst on the money that was owed . . . . which of course everyone had to use to pay the higher federal income tax on those bulk payments
