    Default Moving to PA

    hello all,
i am a new member here, but have been CCing for a year now.
i just got a job that will take me to PA. Most likely Du Bois.

what do i need to know about PA. I am still negotiating salary, what should i be looking for?
rent seems to be about $400-$800 for a 3-4 bed house. is that pretty accurate?

what firearms laws to worry about? registering handguns if necessary?

anything else you can think of?

places to avoid settling down, or great places?

    thanks for the info,
    Landon

For a basic summary of firearm rights in PA, check out this flier: http://paopencarry.org/pdfs/PennsylvaniaGunRights.pdf

For information about the registration of firearms, go to the law section of this web site and click "Do I have to register my firearms in Pennsylvania?"

Can't help you as far as the housing goes, I'm not up on real estate in that area.

Firearm laws ... check out some of the links posted here. If you have a specific question, post it. We will help you out.

Gun registration ... There is no registration in PA. Just bring your guns (assuming no NFA items) with you and have a good time.

    I am comming from UT.

this has all happened very suddenly. I have not had the time to search about firearms law yet except that my ut permit is recognized in PA.

I am more worried about if there are any major cities in the Du Bois area to avoid settling down. I obviously cannot watch the pits. news to see what cities are on it the most.

i am very excited, to move there though.

Lol! Major cities near Dubois. What's your definition of a major city besides Pit of course?

I hope you enjoy your new life in Pa. All in all it's a good place to live.

To (partially) quote headcase from another thread, these links to threads here will provide you with pretty much everything you need to know about PA Gun laws.

DuBois is THE only city in the DuBois area.. lol It has a population of about 9000. The boroughs and villages around are half the size or less.

There really isn't any "bad parts of town" in DuBois or surrounding communities.
