    Default still waiting ...

    It's been three or four months now, and I still haven't received my New Hampshire license. Anyone out there have a similar experience? Should it take this long, or has something been lost in the mail? I'm assuming there's just a huge backlog ...

    There has been a confirmed backlog for months now. Call them and ask about it, they are generally extremely helpful and nice.

    Yeah, apparently there's definitely backlog. I did call yesterday, and they were extremely nice. I was hoping my 603 area code on my cell (I briefly lived in NH, kep the number) would get me preferential treatment, but it was not to be ...
    Actually, I just wanted to find out the holdup, and was told they're processing applications from April. I found my check stub, and it was dated mid-April, so maybe I'll see something in the mail shortly. Fingers crossed ...

    Got mine in the mail yesterday. Said it was issued 7/15/2009. Good for 4 years. Man they must be backlogged. My Utah one came in quicker.

    It's likely that the NH backlog will reduce substantially over the coming month or two as the number of applications dwindle.

    As of July 1st, NH's Non-Resident permit fee rose from $20 to $100.
    This applies to new applications and renewals.

    Seems this was someone's bright idea in order to help with the state's budget crisis.

    Folks who applied as of July 1st who submitted the "old" fee amount will receive their payment and application back via return mail with a letter stating you must resubmit with the current fee amount. Sucks if you made out a now useless money order to NH and dont want to pony up the rest of the money.

    Still the same, simple, 1 page app and permit issuance essentially based upon you already possessing _any_ other permit. No change in permit term of issuance (still good for 4 years) or number of states covered.

    In simple terms, NH is no longer the "value" that it once was;
    I've given _every_ one of my Utah permit course students a NH app since 2005. I wont be doing so any longer and suspect many will choose not to renew as at that price it simply isnt worth it any longer.

    I'm working on certification for another state's program that will have the advantage of being recognized in PA (like NH) but also be able to be issued at age 18, enabling lawful carry in over a dozen states for those of that age alone, even more coverage for the 21 & up crowd
