    Default M&P magazine grip extension?

My Google-fu sucks ass, so I was hoping somebody could tell me where to find the magazine grip extension (is that what its called??). For instance, if I use a full size mag. in my M&P compact it would be the insert that slides over the magazine to make the grip solid. Thanks!!

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about... Do you mean the finger extension for the magazine, the butt plate of the magazine?

If you are looking for the finger extension on the compact mag just call S&W, they will send you one.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

I guess I may as well put this information here, just in case that is what you are looking for:

If you call Smith and Wesson at 1-800-331-0852, and tell them that you are looking for the butt plate part number for the finger extension for the M&P they may just send it to you, for free.

I did this. When I purchased my M&P it came with 2 magazines, one with a regular butt plate, and one with a finger extension. I wanted both of them to have finger extensions, so I called up to order a butt plate because I couldn't find the part # in their online store.

The gentleman who helped me not only gave me the part #, but had it sent to my home within 5 days, free of charge.

    Hope this helps!

No and I think thats why I can't find what I'm looking for, I don't know what to call it!! Basically when you insert a 17rnd mag from a full size M&P into a compact, there is a couple inches of mag exposed between the bottom of the grip and the mags floorplate. They make an "insert" that you slide over the mag, then insert it, and it fills that open space, essentially giving you a solid, full sized grip. Thanks!!

I know what you're talking about. I have a few.

Colagrrl will be by and post her giant list of M&P accessories but until then I'll see if I can dig up a link.

The thing you're looking for is called a magazine sleeve and/or magazine adapter.

This is the X-Grip adapter, pictured on my M&P 9c:

Here's a link to more photos from the same album, showing additional views of the X-Grip and how easy it is to use.

The only place that I know of, that has the X-Grip for the M&P in stock, is Top Gun Supply. TGS charges $9.95 S&H flat rate, regardless of what you order, but he's also very fast with getting your order out to you.

The other option is the Custom Carry Concepts Mag Sleeve:

The CCC sleeve isn't as nice as the X-Grip, but it gets the job done at nearly the same price, with free shipping.

Like the first photo shows, I have the X-Grip. If I were to do it all over, I'd still take the hit on S&H via Top Gun Supply and order the X-Grip. The X-Grip looks seamless when it's installed and to me, it doesn't cheapen the looks of the gun. They both work and do what they're meant to do, make your grip a full grip so you can run a 17 rnd. magazine, so it's all a matter of personal preference.

If there's anything else M&P related that you might be looking for, just ask. I have an extensive list of links to places that make all kinds of parts & pieces for the M&P's
