    Default Most popular calibers -

I try to keep my load for what everyone is using as a majority. However, I have never really asked anyone what they use. I just happen to listen more than I talk.

So now I am asking, What are the calibers that you shoot the most?

    Knight,
Are you using the .458 in a 45-90?

    PaGunNut,
It would be a good idea to slug the barrel of the rifle. Bores can be .375 up to .379.

here are a couple loads for starters:

21 grains AA5744, 249 grain lead flat nose, CCI LR Mag. primers
    1300FPS
37 grains WW844 (H355), 220 gr. Horn. SP, CCI LR Mag. primers
    1700FPS
22 Grains H4198, 249 gr. lead flat nose, CCI LR Mag. primers
    1325FPS

I use all of these loads in a C. Sharps Model 1875 Single shot. All are very accurate for me. None show any signs ofhigh pressure.
I have more loads if you need.

    Take care, good Luck, Jeff

    pagunnut,
38-55. Have not had any call for that before. I do know that there is a box of softpoints for sale on gunbroker. Here is the link.
