I have an IMI (AMT) Hardballer, which I've owned for many years. I'm aware of the spotty reputation. My question, regards the trigger letoff. It's almost "spongy". Not heavy-just spongy. These pistols use an odd trigger that is thicker than a 1911, but thinner than a Gold Cup. The hammer, is a sort of bobbed Commander style, which I actually like. I've been thinking of replacing the sear, but keeping the hammer and trigger. Any thoughts as to how effective this would be at achieving a crisp trigger pull?
