Default Got Booted out of Dickson City Viewmont Mall

I went there to pick up my girlfriend at the chocolate store from work, i told her i'm going to express to look around and then to american eagle, meet me at one of them and hurry up.....i go to express look around breifly and she ends up meeting me when I'm leaving the store

were walking down to AE and we pop in for not even 2 minutes..nothing there i want....so i was planning on leaving the mall but she wanted to go across the way to Victoria secrets to show me something....so I'm in a decent mood and playing with my phone, walking and talking and wasn't really paying any attention the security guards

one of them stationed at one of those stands in the middle of the mall and 2 of them were on the left side of the entrance to AE....she goes first an i'm following nad i thought i heard "excuse me sir" but i didn't really pay attention because i didn't know if it was for me and if it was i didn't want to talk you anyone (whoever it was, people annoy me esp. the ones you havn't seen in a years)

So lol the one is like umm sir i have a question for you...yeah?...is that a real gun?!?!!? umm yeah?...do you have a concealed weapons permit......Now I thought it was concealed, i had an inside the pants holster on with just a T shirt that was riding up.....but i told him right now my gun isn't concealed, you don't need one, but yes i do have a LTCF..........well I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the premises....so i ask why and hes like i can't have anyone carrying a gun concealed or unconcealed on the property I'm sorry.....now i don't take shit from to many people and that's not to say i start fights, but i know the wifey wanted me to buy w.e she wanted so i asked can i just cover it up make everyone happy and stay?

NOOO you have to leave right now, unless your an law enforcement officer you can't be here with a gun, you can come back without the gun but right now you have to leave.....so i told him that that rule is stupid and so is he and started just walking out.....him and 2 others somewhat of escorted me out, they just followed me at a lengthy distance, and after we started going he got in his security jeep liberty to follow me around the lot.

Was I right in just leaving? Because I think if you don't leave when they ask its criminal trespassing? The whole time I wanted to tell him take the shit out his mouth because he was nervous as hell and trying to be mr PC.....

Then after we left the mall and we got on Route 6 towards Carbondale, near the Kmart a DC cop puts his lights on about 6 car lengths behind us and moves into the middle lane...no1 was speeding around us...so i was like mother fucker that fucking prick call the police on me for no god damn reason...and my girlfriends like why you left with out doing anything.....i was like remember how i made you sit down for an hour and read the Old Country Buffet thing on the gun site..."ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah ""man with a gun pshh"" lol...but it turns out there was an accident he was going to.

so thats my first encounter, any comments or questions...lets hear em

You were on private property. Despite the fact that you thought you were doing nothing wrong, they had every right to ask you to leave.

They couldn't do anything more unless you refused.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

You where correct in leaving when asked to do so. Security guards have the same authority as the actual property owns and are fully with in their right to ask you to leave for just about any reason with the expedition discrimination on the bases of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion.

Sucks I know but the only thing you can really do about it is right letters to the managers of all the stores in the mail and tell them until the polices are change to allow the legal carry of firearms you will be unable to shop in their facility.

Sounds about average for when a mall guard notices someones gun. You where def right in leaving because otherwise they can get you in trouble with the law.

I personally don't see the need to tell the guard he's stupid or get an attidude with him, he's just doing his job. Follow up with the mall, explain why they won't be getting your business but no need to take it out on someone doing their job that has no say in the rules. Doesn't exactly make gun owners as a whole look good either, my opinion of course.

Most malls have a no weapons sign on the doors and since that's DC it probably does. Some people here will tell you they have no meaning but Gunlawyer001 says that you are asking to become a test case by ignoring them. I have no reason not to believe him. He is an attorney. I've been to his seminars. Weather there are signs up or not you have to leave if you are asked to or you can be charged with criminal trespass. When I go to a mall(not often) I deep conceal. What they don't know won't bother them.

The only thing I have to add, is that if your girlfriend, wife, or whatever says she wants to show you something at Victoria Secrets, you GO! A trip lingere shopping should NEVER be met with complaint under any circumstances, and shouldn't be given accomodation because you were in a good mood.

If anything, her wanting to show you something at Victoria Secrets should PUT you in a good mood.

Thats my pertinent middle-aged man advice of the day.

Exactly right! Even if you pay for it, consider it as a gift from you, to her, for you. Personally, I love going in those stores with the GF, cause I know sooner or later I get to see her in something that I will like.

As far as the OP's story, I wouldn't have said anything to the security guy. They are just doing their jobs and have no say in the rules, but rather just enforce the ones the owner made. I have been asked to leave places by security before, and I will always respect the security guards as I would anyone else, cause they have to do what they are told. One of them was actually all for open carry and was a gun owner himself, we talked for a while and he stated he didn't agree with the rules, but he had to enforce them anyway.
