Default National Reciprocity? What should I carry in New Jersey?

In addition to watching MTNJack's situation, I am also watching in wonderment as under the watchful eye of the most anti-gun president we have ever had, our rights get ever more expanded. The next bit coming down the pike appears to be an National Reciprocity amendment attached to a "Must Pass" appropriations bill

even the Truckers are on board with this one.

so let's imagine that this bill passes. What do I need to know about New Jersey? I already know that it has to be concealed. Cops will arrest you for a glimpse. I also know that NJ bans "hollow nose" bullets, which would make my standard carry load of 230gr Hydra-Shoks a bad plan. What would be a better ammo to carry in a .45ACP?

What can you carry in Jersey?

    An attitude. That's it.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

A bill to amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to allow citizens who have concealed carry permits from the State in which they reside to carry concealed firearms in another State that grants concealed carry permits, if the individual complies with the laws of the State.

Well that's worrisome. All the "may issue" states that never really issue anyway might just stop granting them all together.

not to delve too much into the politics of the issue as i was really asking about how the nuts and bolts of CC in NJ affect me, but think about how it will play out. all the wackos from PA (well, wackos from NJ an NYC government point of view) will be legal to carry in NJ and NYC, but the residents won't. How long do you think that will stand? it's yet another reason to abandon the state and commute.

I was of a belief that JHP's were only illegal in NJ if used in a crime.

The possession of “hollow nose” ammunition is prohibited in New Jersey any time you are not in your dwelling, premises, or land, going to your dwelling, premises, or land, going to a formal target range, or hunting. See New Jersey State Police — Firearms Information: Transportation and Use of Hollow Point Ammunition by Sportsmen for more specific information.

Okay, kiddies, any idea how complex that last phrase is?

I think an M2 would be appropriate.
