    Default Chimney Cleaning?

Anyone here in SE PA a chimney sweep? My house (located in Pottstown) has a wood burning insert and I'd like to make sure it is cleaned properly, inspected before this coming winter. It is a Winter Warm Cast Iron Catalytic Small Insert from Vermont Castings. It was professionally installed a number of years ago by the previous owners. They used it frequently to offset the cost of oil from what I was told. I have used it a few times over the past winter and it really heats the entire first floor very well, was great when my oil heater broke down for a day in the middle of those really really cold days.

If anyone does this for a living or can recommend someone in the area that does would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Anthony

    Soup,
Sorry I can't help you out more specifically, but you might want to check with a reputable stove dealer in your area. They can usually give you the low-down on the quality sweeps in your neck of the woods. But DO get it cleaned yearly. I clean mine myself, which is not all that difficult with a single story ranch.

Thanks, I wanted to support people either on this site or people who were recommended from people on this site. I did get a name of a local sweep with good reputation but wanted to see what my other options were. Cleaning it myself is not an option. I have no tools and my ladder isn't long enough. Thanks for the advice and taking the time to reply :-)

I'm a chimney sweep, sir, quite rightly, yes I am. I work for 2 shillings an hour and afternoon tea, I surely do guv'ner.
